TCA has a long and distinguished history of supporting the Florida/Georgia Blood Alliance with yearly blood drives.  Senior High faculty member, Deborah Wescott, sponsors these efforts.  She explains, "We usually have a fairly decent turnout, averaging about 30 units per drive.  For the past few years, I've set a 50 unit goal for our last blood drive of the year, but we are still striving to attain that goal.  For many years, we hosted three blood drives per school year.  Two years ago the Florida/Georgia Blood alliance asked us to consider adding another one per year, so now we host four."
 
The first blood drive of the year was on Monday, September 18 and was a great success with 50 donors and 41 units donated.  The remaining dates are:

Please note that these dates are spaced more than 8 weeks apart--the waiting period for donating--so that students and faculty can participate in all four drives.
 
Those wishing to donate should e-mail Mrs. Wescott at dwescott@tbc.edu or call the Jr. High/High School Office at ext. #2477 for their requested donation times.  Remember that donation times are in 20 minute increments (i.e. 9:00, 9:20, 9:40, etc.).  Also, remember to drink plenty of fluids, eat breakfast and lunch, and don't forget to bring along your photo I.D. on the day of donation.
