TCA Commemorates Fifth Anniversary of 9/11

To commemorate the fifth anniversary of September 11, the Elementary school set aside Monday, September 11, 2006, to remember those who lost their lives and to honor firefighters, law enforcement, rescue personnel and military personnel. This special Patriotic Day began with a special prayer service at the flagpole at 8:20 a.m. Students were wearing patriotic t-shirts and special buttons that the school provided. When asked about the importance of this special day, lower division principal, Dr. Mike Belk replied: "We want to remember and honor not only those who perished in the terrorist attack, but to honor the sacrifices of those who serve in public and military service. We believe that America is still the greatest nation on earth and we want our students to experience that feeling of pride and patriotism on this special day."
